1.
honey-eyed in the basement, heard june singing the switchboards to sleep miss q is in the backyard sippin’ gin & tonics with me it’s cold outside, but we don’t mind it’s almost time to forget the time set this old house on fire home, the trees grew through the windows one day ‘round halloween and the oven - in an outrage - started spitting gasoline in the phone calls came like a hurricane said, ‘winds too strong don’t bring no change just a little bit of rain’ june retires to the attic, pulls the moon into her chest while miss q’s speech starts slurring, smoking all my cigarettes says, ‘tonight enough became too much this frame just ain’t what it once was it turned bone, it turned rust’ and by dawn each day is broken and tomorrow would be just the same oh, but I’d rather burn then miss q, june in turn than sit where I’ve been and complain miss q strikes a match and we count to three all nowhere bound and all bound to leave miss q, June, and me
